REESE JOINS DC POWER SOCCER CLUB OWNERSHIP GROUP

WNBA star Angel Reese is the newest owner of the DC Power Football Club women’s soccer team.

Reese, the former LSU Tiger, reportedly paid cash for a 5% stake in the franchise.

The club plays in the USL Super League and will begin its inaugural season in August 2024.

The club has been in discussions with Reese since she was at LSU, saying they felt she “aligns with their mission of empowering female athletes.”

Washington Nationals pitcher Josiah Grey is also an investor in the franchise.

Currently in her rookie season with the Chicago Sky, Reese grew up in nearby Baltimore and attended the University of Maryland before transferring to LSU, where she led them to the 2023 national championship.

“I want to help grow women’s sports and elevate female athletes across the board.

We’re taking over, and I’m honored to be able to support Power FC and invest in women’s soccer in the DMV community.”
